Half the fun of going to Greenwich is getting on the Docklands Light Railway! It’s like a really slow rollercoaster and if you sit at the front I promise you’ll have hours of fun. Greenwich is all shiny and new, it feels really spacious and airy – a completely different vibe to anywhere else in the city. Go to the top of the Royal Observatory for a great view of the whole city. The famous Cutty Sark and the Royal Maritime Museum sits by the waters edge and is a great place for a bit of history, the town itself is lovely to walk around and of course you also have the O2 Centre (still the millennium dome in my eyes) and all the restaurants and bars it brings with it not far away. It is still a developing area and so expect more things to continue to pop up here. In addition, every summer the area plays host to the Greenwich and Docklands International Festival which displays all manner of cultural things on its streets and making best use of the area.
